Margie McGee-Newton (she/her/hers) is a learning experience designer specializing in workforce development and career readiness initiatives. With expertise spanning instructional design, AI-powered learning tools, and scalable digital content creation, she brings a design-thinking approach to creating engaging, user-centered learning experiences that connect learners to meaningful career outcomes.
She designs custom learning pathways that make executive education accessible to working professionals, partnering with subject matter experts to transform dense academic content into scaffolded, interactive experiences using AI chatbots, roleplays, and multimedia storytelling. As a strategic consultant, she has guided higher education institutions through change management initiatives, applied design thinking methodologies to service innovation, and developed frameworks for scaling career services across diverse student populations. Previously, as Director of Career Education at DePaul University's Career Center, she built a 50+ module library of micro-learning career content and piloted Future Forward, a first-year career experience that doubled enrollment in three years while demonstrably improving retention and student confidence.
Margie holds an MFA in Visual Studies from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Her background in studio arts—particularly woodcarving and ceramics—informs her creative, iterative approach to learning design.
